Brighton Handsewn offer traditional pencil pleat headings made with 3" or 6" tape, and also hand stitched double or triplet pinch pleat headings.

Hems and linings are hand sewn in place to ensure an invisible finish and beautiful drape. Headings are machine sewn for strength and finished by hand. Corners are weighted and mitre finished.

Brighton Handsewn can offer you a choice of standard cotton sateen lining, thermal or blackout lining, in either white or cream. The curtains can also be interlined for extra fullness and insulation.

How to measure for curtains

For finished curtain width, it is recommended to measure the length of the track or the length between the decorative finials of a curtain pole.

For curtain drop, measure from the top of track to allow it to be hidden by the curtains. For a curtain pole, measure from the underside of the curtain ring to allow the pole to be seen above the curtains. Measure from track or pole to 1cm above the sill for sill length, the desired length for below-sill length or 1cm above the floor for full length.

Please contact Brighton Handsewn for help to calculate the amount of fabric required for making the curtains. Liz can offer advice for the fullness of the curtains and add the allowances for hems and pattern repeats.

Please contact Brighton Handsewn with any questions. Liz is happy to provide a quote and advise how to get the best from your fabric.
